Dear Max,
Life has not slowed down and it appears to just be getting busier! By Tuesday I had fully recovered from the Pink eye and on Wednesday I was on a plane to Burbank, CA to meet with some customers for work. It feels like I was just there! While this is a part of my job that is not very fun (being away from my family) it's nice that every once in awhile we have the opportunity to take advantage of these trips and turn them into small getaways! While I was in Burbank on Wednesday and Thursday, Daddy needed to be in Anaheim for a training class on Friday. So we made our plan, Daddy and you drove down to Anaheim on Thursday and I drove from Burbank to Anaheim to meet up. I was again so proud of your Daddy for going on a 5 hour car ride all by himself with you. He planned it just right, so you would leave about the time you typically go down for your morning nap. The one thing that Daddy did not figure was this, he had got you a DVD player for the car. We have been very careful to not let you watch too much TV, so you can only imagine your excitement to watch TV in the CAR! Well, the nap went out the window and instead you found yourself watching Toy Story, Toy Story2 and GForce. Daddy made a stop in Barstow and took you into McDonald's all by himself, fed you lunch, changed your diaper and the two of you were back on the road. Our timing was perfect, I got to the hotel about 20 minutes before the two of you. Just enough time to get checked in and get my bags in the room so I could unload the ridiculous amount of stuff we had packed in Daddy's truck. I just kept thinking... we might need this, throw it in!
Daddy and I had been trying to locate a babysitter in LA. We were hoping to get a night out for the two of us, however, it seemed that it was a busy weekend for all and everyone was leaving town when we were coming. Our plan, if we got a baby sitter was to go eat at our favorite restaurant... Captain Jack's. Well, Daddy decided to call Thursday evening and just ask if they even had highchairs....guess what!?! They have 2! So we figured if they had high chairs, that babies must go their sometimes. So we called back and made a reservation for 2 with a high chair for 7 pm. I was super nervous cause you had not napped much during your drive down, I was convinced that this was the worst decision of our parenting career and certainly going to end up being the most embarrassing. Well, as usual, you proved me wrong! They sat us in the back corner (normally I would have been mad, but in this case I was glad they put "baby in the corner") we still had a window table, so we could watch the sunset over the water. And right behind us was the big aquarium. PERFECT! We had such a wonderful dinner. They made you noodles with butter, which you LOVED! And of course Daddy and I had the crab legs. Oh they are so good!!!

The next morning Daddy had to go to his training class, so you and I slept in and watched cartoons until the sun started to come out. As soon as the sun came out we headed to the pool. It was beautiful weather and being a Friday, we had the entire pool to ourselves for the majority of the day. It was so fun to swim. It was a nice break for the two of us!

After we swam for awhile, we went back up to the room we ordered room service for lunch, you took a nap and then we got ready for the day. What a perfect day for the two of us!

When Daddy got back from his class we decided to go over to Downtown Disney to see how you would react to "Disney" the good news is... we can wait at least another 6 months for anything "Disney" you could really care less. Now, Daddy on the other hand loved all the star wars stuff. Especially at the lego store. You will see what he bought "you" later.

These are the things that your Daddy loves about having you in our lives. Normally we would have walked right by these boats. Your daddy would have said, "I want to go over and steer the boats." I would have said "That's for kids to do" Daddy would have said "How do you know?" I would have said "Because of the height of the boat steering thing!" But now...Without hesitation Daddy can throw money into the boat steerer thing and you just turned and turned that boat in one big circle! It was awesome!

The best was this little girl that kept coming up to you saying "It's my turn now!" What the heck! Tell your cheap parents to put a dollar into your own machine! Leave ours alone!

On Saturday we drove down to long beach and went on a whale watching boat. One thing Mommy didn't seem to catch when Daddy was telling us about this adventure was that the whale watching ride was 2 and 1/2 hours. Really, I don't know what I should have expected, but suddenly I a little panic attack, thinking of being on a boat for 2 and 1/2 hours out at sea. What if you needed something that I DIDN'T pack! But I put those feelings aside, got brave and we got on the boat. Within minutes of being on the boat and heading out to sea I reached into the diaper bag to get the sunscreen. If we were going to be out on the deck of the boat in the middle of the day, we needed to keep you sweet skin protected. Guess what? I forgot it! So we spent the rest of the boat ride down in the depths of the boat inside and protected. Daddy however had a great view and would come and visit us often!

It was still fun and a relaxing, rocking ride.
After the whale watching ride, we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific. It is a HUGE aquarium! It was so fun to see your reaction to all the fishes. You especially loved the tanks that you could put your hands into.

Sunday morning we woke up went to the pool for a last minute dip before packing up and heading home. The real excitement came when we were driving on the CA freeway in the carpool lane and Daddy suddenly realized that we had blew a tire! Oh my! We pulled off into the shoulder on the left side of the road, we were so glad that the truck didn't swerve out of control, but were scared about being on the left shoulder. Daddy had to pull so close that he couldn't even open his door and all the car's and trucks just kept rushing by. Daddy and I started calling around to find someone to come out and help us. Being a Sunday, most places were closed. I did talk to one gal that suggested calling the free freeway road side assistance line. So I did. When I called them and they found out that we were in the left shoulder, She immediately told me to hang up and call 911. WHAT? Call 911! WHY? She said that were in danger and we needed help. So I did as I was told, and called 911. As soon as I told them what was going on. They asked if we all had our seat belts on. I told them we did, they said to please keep our seat belts on and stay in the car and they were sending help to us. We waited there and suddenly about 7 minutes later we noticed the road side assistance truck show up, however, he was on the right shoulder. Not sure how he was ever going to make it over to us! That's when we looked behind us and just like that... Not a single car on the freeway! The truck came over to us, told us to slowly move the truck over to the right shoulder. They had shut down the freeway until we could cross over and then they would open it back up! I couldn't believe it. They closed down a CA freeway for our little family. I was so grateful. I quickly took a picture as the car's started coming back down the freeway. It was a site to see all those lanes clear. They fixed our tire right on the spot and within an hour we were back on the road. We were so grateful that we were able to get home safe and sound. Such a fun weekend! Glad to be back safe!

Oh and remember that gift I was telling you that your daddy bought for "you" at Disney. A light saber. That's right, he bought "you" a light saber. I think this was the first and last time I have seen you play with the light saber!
Well Max, we are home for 3 day's then off to Utah to see Grammie and Pappa for Easter! Sure is a busy few weeks! We love you!
