Celebrating first days of school a day latter....

Dear Max,
You were too tired after your first day of pre-school to celebrate last night, so we went out tonight for shaved ice.  It's Tova's first time having shaved ice.  I think you two are really going to enjoy your time together!  I love you Max!

First Day of Pre-School for you and Senior Year for Tova

Dear Max,
Today was your first day of pre-school!!  I can't believe that we are going to be taking you to Kindergarten in a year!!!  That just seems crazy to me.  It was also Tova's Senior year at Shadow Ridge High School.  Kind of strange to have a senior and a pre-schooler in the house.

Tova has already made friends!

You seemed to have a great day!

But I think it wore you out!

I love you Max!!  To the moon and back!

First Day of School

Dear Max,
August 26, 2013
Today we truly had both sides of the spectrum.  Your first day of Pre-School and Tova's first day of Senior year in High School.  Talk about vast differences.  But either way, it seemed to be a great day for both of you!  Tova is making friends quickly and the school work is exhausting for you.  So we seem to be par for the course!

Annie, Jenika, McKenna, Tova

You are so tired after school that you ate your dinner while laying down!
Now that is a sign of pure exhaustion!!!

I'm looking forward to a great school year for both of you, a year of learning, loving and experiencing life with an older sister and a teenager for us.  I guess this is good practice for your Dad and I for when your a teenager!  I love you Max!

Love,

Mom

Tova

Dear Max,
August 26, 2013
Well, it was a quick decision, but a decision non the less...You now have a sweedish sister!  A dear friend of ours in the ward is the coordinator for exchange students.  Tova had been displaced and was looking for a home and family to stay with.  That's when we got the call...I will admit we have had some hesitations, but the overwhelming thought is, Tova should stay with us.  So she is!  So far you seem to be ok with the idea of it.  She moved in last night, so we are all still getting use to one another.  We decided to break the "ice" over shaved ice for Family Home Evening.  I think it's going to be a good thing!  I will admit it is so good to see you interact with a sibling.  I wish so much that you would have the opportunity to have a brother or sister, but I guess this is the next best thing.  You are an amazing young boy filled with so much joy, love and laughter!  Not even the snow shack is dull when you are there!  I love you Max!

Tanier and Sol get married

Dear Max,
We were able to witness the sealing of Tanier Glauser and Sol Lee in the St. George Temple, it was so wonderful!!  I'm so glad that we have the relationship we do with Tanier.  I know that my Grandma and Grandpa Snow watch over our friendship and have paved a way for our family to remain connected through the two of us.  By the way...you looked extra handsome tonight for the wedding reception.  I love you to the moon and back!!

Love,

Mom

T's Wedding

Dear Max,
August 24, 2013
Now...this is a boy that loves his Grammie!  Man are you a lucky dude to have such a beautiful Grammie and to have such a love for each other!!  It reminds me of my relationship with my Grandma Snow.  She is my everything.  Whenever I felt like my parents just simply didn't understand...some how my Grandma Snow always did understand!  I miss her so much, but seeing your relationship grow with Grammie brings back so many beautiful memories for me!

The reason we were up in St. George this weekend was for Tanier's wedding!  I'm so happy that our family was able to participate and be a part of her special day.  I won't get into the details of the family drama, but let's just say it was a day I never thought I would see, let alone that Grammie would see.  Here is my favorite picture of the day...Me and my little man!  Oh!  How I love you!!!

Hanging with the Kendalls

Dear Max,
Monday, August 19, 2013
We are so very blessed to be living in the Aliante ward.  These blessings are found in so many places, but one of the places they are found is in the Kendall Family.  There are so many times when you have become the 4th son in their family!  Brennan and you are just a couple weeks apart and he has two older brothers and the 4 of you together make for a fun time!  You went to their house for a play date Monday afternoon and didn't make it home until almost 10pm.  We kept getting messages that the day was turning into dinner, then dinner was turning into a movie, then a movie was turning into a late night.  It was awesome!  I love that you are making good friends with kids in the ward.  I pray that you will always stay close to the kids that hold the same standards as you that you will always lift each other up, look out for one another and support each other.  These sorts of friendships take work, love and patience!  I love you Max!!!

My office got flooded!

Dear Max,
August 19, 2013
So...7 days ago, I got a call Monday morning to not come into work, and just work from home because my office had flooded over the weekend!  I couldn't believe it...but yup, a pipe had broken and my office was in the course of destruction.  Here are some before and afters
Hard to tell...but the carpet was all flooded and my papers were all soaked!

Here is the after...New Carpet, New Paint and time to move back in!

One thing is for sure...Never a dull moment in life.  The one thing we can always count on is CHANGE!  It's how we handle and what we do with this change that makes all the difference.  It is always in our control.  One thing I've learned in life, is it doesn't make it better to have a bad attitude about it.  It actually can make it worse.  Find the good in all situations and you will do just that BE GOOD!  I mean come on...I got to work from home one day, got new paint and got new carpet in my office!  Not much wrong with that!  I love you Max!

Mom

Rylea's Mission Farewell

Dear Max,
I sure am grateful for good friends.  The Kendall family was so kind and invited you over for dinner at their house on Friday night, it was nice to have a night to spend with your Daddy.  Saturday we spend the day getting ready for Sunday, which was Rylea's Mission farewell.  Sister Wyatt and I threw her a farewell party at Sister Wyatt's house.  She will be serving in the Atlanta, Georgia Mission, so we did a Georgia Peach themed farewell party.  Sure proud of this girl and her decision to Serve the Lord!  I love you Max

Saying Goodbye to Rylea

Dear Max,
Sunday, August 18, 2013
Today was the mission farewell for Rylea Driscoll.  She was one of my "Girls" as you call them.  She is heading out to her mission in Atlanta, Georgia.  So Sister Wyatt and I threw her a Georgia Peach party!  We had a blast putting the party together and were so grateful for everyone's love and support in sending her on her way!

We are so blessed to live in such a supportive, loving ward!  I'm very grateful for the time we get to spend here in Las Vegas learning and living with these saints!  I know that we will have life long friends here and I will forever be grateful for their example in not only my life but in your life too.  I'm very excited for you to serve your mission, even though it makes me sad already to think of you in a far away place for 2 years.  But I know that your life will be blessed beyond measure by the things you learn, the people you serve and the lives you will touch when you are serving the Lord on your mission.  I pray that you grow up with the desire to serve a full time mission, that you keep your self worthy and fulfill this priesthood obligation that has been asked of you.  I love you with all my heart Max!

Love,

Mom
