Uncle Geary Graduates with his Masters!

Dear Max,
July 12, 2013
I'm so proud of your Uncle Geary!  Today he graduated with his masters!!!  We all drove up to Salt Lake City to witness and support him in this exciting accomplishment.  I must admit, Graduation ceremonies are well...BORING!  And this one was no exception...except that Daddy forgot his Diabetes Medication and started to slip into Diabetic shock!  Well, that's one way to make Graduations exciting.  We suddenly found ourselves leaving the ceremony (in a rush!), calling our doctor back in Vegas, frantically trying to find a pharmacy all while I'm just begging your dad to let me take him to the ER.  Well, we got to a pharmacy and they helped us get his medication and things settled rather quickly.  But poor uncle Geary...by the time the ceremony had ended, Aunt Jali and your cousins had left (kids and graduations never mix!) and of course we had left...so he just got in his car and headed home.  We got ahold of him and so he stopped at the Pharmacy we were at and we took our "traditional" graduation photo's in the middle of the Pharmacy!  We don't do much very normal around here!!

The rest of the trip was in the company of our family and you got some much needed COUSIN time!!!  I love this picture of you holding Tiffany!  You are such a loving Boy!!

I'm so very grateful for our family!  And I'm so very grateful that everything ended up ok with your Daddy! Its scary stuff and I'm hoping we don't have to relive a moment like that again!  I love you Max!!

Smurfts come to Paris....Las Vegas

Dear Max,
July 11, 2013
I must say...every once in awhile I take a step back and say to myself..."I have a really cool job!" It's not ideal to not be with you every moment of every day, but...(and I really hope your reading this when your already a parent, so it doesn't sound strange) I'm a MUCH better mom when I'm working outside the home. And since this is a true reality, I'm so grateful that I have the employment that I do.  I have been working with Warner Brothers Pictures on the Press Junket for the release of the SMURFS 2 movie.  The smurfs go to Paris in the movie, so of course, the Paris Hotel was the perfect location for their Press Junket!  The other day when I was walking over to the Planet Hollywood Hotel, I noticed that they were inflating a HUGE smurf to go under the arc!  A small negotiation item that I put into place, they paid $25,000.00 to put that smurf there and another $80,000.00 to change the Eiffel Tower to blue lights!  Man!  Maybe I'm in the wrong business!

It's Always so good to be home!

Dear Max -
July 5, 2013
I've been home from Girls camp for one day, and boy is it good to be home!  Couple of note worthy things...Yup, that's a fire on the mountain that we just got off of!  Apparently it has been all ablaze for the week, but we were never in danger so we didn't have to leave early.  Come to find out only 2 hours after our departure smoke filled Camp Stimpson and the camp that was to move in after us was cancelled.  We were protected, watched over and blessed this last week.  I know it is because certain girls needed to be on that mountain and have the experiences they did.  As always the adventures never stop with you around!  It's good to be home, I missed you so very much!  I love you!!!

Getting ready for girls camp

Dear Max,
My honorary young women!  You are such a trooper to tag along with me to young women's each Wednesday.  I love that you are willing to spend your time with me serving in my calling.  Each week you say, Mom, are we going to go see your girls?  Yup, let's go see my girls.  And away we go.  Tonight you came to watch the girls' skits as we prepare to go to girls camp next week.  I'm going to miss you like crazy for a week!!!  I love you Max!

Love,

Mom

Don't worry, the bandage is not for real, you just really wanted to put a bandage on your face...so we did!  Guess you were looking for some extra sympathy today!

Typical Wednesday Night

Dear Max,
June 26, 2013
You are such a trooper.  This is pretty much your mode of operation on Wednesday nights.  Dad has scouts and Mom has Young Women's...so it's an evaluation process of which activity is a 4 year old less distracting at and Girls Camp Rally won tonight.  Armed with the DVD player, head phones and blue candy we are set. Oh and the awesome band-aid your sporting for a no reason...just cause you love band-aids!  I love you Max and I'm so grateful that you have the opportunity to see your parents serve in their callings.  I'm grateful for our callings and the blessings it brings to our family!  I love you!

Mom

Dear Max,
Well, this has been an exciting weekend.  We came up to Salt Lake for your uncle Geary's graduation with his Master's from Western Governors University.  We were all in the Energy Solutions Arena in downtown Salt Lake, when your daddy looked at me and said...I don't feel so good.  I could tell by looking in his eyes, he was not ok.  Your Daddy has diabetes and has to be really careful about what he eats and taking his medication.  Well...guess what happened.  He forgot his medication at home and got really sick.  We were all so scared and didn't know what to do.  I felt horrible, cause I didn't have anything in my purse that could help.  Grammie found someone with some fruit snacks and he ate those and we left the graduation to find a pharmacy that would fill daddy's prescription.  Nothing like celebrating your graduation at the Pharmacy!  It was fun to be with family, regardless where you are at!  I'm so grateful for our family!!  I love you Max

Mom
