It's Christmas Already!

Sunday, December 13, 2009
Dear Max,
It's Christmas already! Well, we've celebrated already. Every other year we get to celebrate Christmas with Uncle Geary, Auntie Jali, Daniel and Natalie. On the other years they get to celebrate with Daniel and Natalie's other Grandma and Grampa and we get to celebrate twice! So that is what we did this year. We met up at Grammie and Grampie's house the weekend and Friday night we stayed up late getting ready for "Christmas morning." Since this is what we refer to as an "off year" we didn't all get matching p.j.'s on "Christmas eve" but the grandkids did. So the kids all wore their matching p.j.'s to bed and when we woke up the next morning we had a big breakfast before going down stairs to see what we each got for Christmas It was funny cause we didn't want you to open everything early so Daniel and Natalie had a lot more things to open. At one point, you started to see this and had a slight breakdown. Do you think I'm crazy that I think this is funny? After opening gifts, we decided to go over to the Nativity Festival. Which Grammie started 10 years ago for the first time. It has become a tradition in St. George and has grown quite a bit, at the peak of Grammie's years of doing the festival they had over 7,000 people coming. It was fun to go to the festival as it takes place in the church house that I went to growing up, so many of the ward members from my childhood were there. It was so fun for them to see and meet you. The festival was very spiritual and a great thing to be able to do on "Christmas Day" after the festival we had to run to the grocery store to pick up a few things we forgot for our "Christmas Dinner" which was so convenient that the store was open for us on "Christmas Day" we went back to Grammie and Grampies and had a fantastic meal of crab legs, steak and clam chowder. I'm so glad that we have the opportunity to spend time with our family. We have such a fun time together and are creating many memories that I hope you will remember forever. Merry Christmas Max! Your a lucky boy to get Christmas twice!
