Grammie and Grampie Came to Town...And brought a "surprise...Oscar"

Sunday, January 17, 2010
Dear Max,
Grammie and Papa came to town this weekend! It was so fun to see them. We haven't seen them since Christmas and Grammie and Papa were having withdrawls! I think you were too - you were SOOO happy to see them too. You just could hardly contain yourself when you saw your Grampie (or as you call him papa). Big smiles and claps! They even brought a surprise... Auntie Julie! Man, were we glad to see her!!!! Not only had it been awhile since we saw Auntie Julie, our hair was telling the bigger story! They arrived Saturday afternoon, Daddy had to work during the day, but you could hardly wait to show Grammie and Papa one of your favorite places... The ducks at the park! As soon as they arrived we headed over to the park. Grampie tried to show you how to throw the bread to the ducks, but just like the last times you seemed to like to eat the bread yourself more than sharing it with the ducks. Then we showed papa your swing. You loved it! You were having so much fun that when the time came to go, you were not so happy about that. Grampie had to run some errands to he went to do that and us girls (and you) went shopping. Auntie Julie needed to run to Sephora and it was suggested to me to get you some stride rite shoes to help encourage you to walk, so we headed out on our adventure. We met up with Daddy, Papa, Auntie Andrea at Memphis BBQ and had a BIG feast. You had had such a long day, and no nap. So you can imagine that the scenario was toxic. But as we sat around the table, Grammie taking a turn entertaining you, then papa, then Auntie Andrea, then Auntie Julie, then back to Daddy and me. I said to myself, we are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends that they would all pitch in and help through dinner! We are lucky to have such great family. Sunday, Auntie Julie and I went to church with you. We ended up leaving early (I'll tell you more about that later). As soon as we got home you went down for your long winters nap with Grammie and Papa, Auntie Julie and I had some nice time to chat. Everyone went home in the afternoon, so Papa could drive before dark. It was a fast trip, but so good to see everyone. I miss Grammie and Papa already! And they have already called to say that they are missing you! I love you Max!

Your getting better at it!

This was hilarious! You were holding onto the front of the swing, you have never done that before, but you were being a little stubborn about trying it the other way.

Happy Boy!

I love that smile!

That is a happy Grammie, Papa and Max!

A Big push from Papa

The biggest smiles!

We finally convinced you to change your hands!

That's Better!

Look at that sad face...
